Will my insurance cover therapy?

For those who would like to use health insurance, most health insurance plans have "behavioral health benefits" or "mental health benefits" that you can ask about. You can often find information about in-network providers online or by calling the 800 number on the back of your insurance card. I am in network with BCBS PPO. If you do not have BCBS PPO, I can provide you with a Superbill to submit to your insurance if you have out of network coverage.

What are some questions I can ask my insurance about my coverage for mental health benefits?

If your insurer asks about "CPT codes", the following codes are commonly used for psychotherapy - 90791, 90837, 90834. Since I am not currently in network with any insurance providers, the questions with an (*) will be most helpful when reaching out to your insurance provider. You can contact your insurance by calling the number on the back of your insurance card.
